What I'm Writing

Winter is Coming, and So’s Your Chance to Pre-Order the Book: Music of Pedro Kickstarter Campaign

If you’re reading this, I’m gonna assume you’re not sick of hearing about my dad’s book yet! Maybe you’re even a little excited to own your own copy!

Look at these three! Pleased as punch. Even the baby of the family can’t wait.

While the book will be officially available to buy on November 8th through Amazon KDP, we want to have a special print just for the launch fiesta so people can take a signed physical book home with them immediately, but we need your help to raise the funds. (And by helping us out you’ll be pre-ordering your copy of the book as well as reserving your ticket to the launch party!)

The quantity and format of available copies (paperback and hardback) will depend on how many people back our Kickstarter campaign (launched Tuesday, September 24th and finishing Tuesday, October 15th at 11:30 AM PDT)!

How Kickstarter Works

If you’re unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it’s a platform that allows people to raise funds for various projects. You set a goal and then share the link to collect backers during an allotted period of time (In our case exactly 21 days.). If you meet or exceed your goal by the last day, you get the funds, but if you fail to meet your goal, you get nothing. Backers don’t get charged until the campaign ends and only if the Kickstarter meets its goal.

I’m not going to lie; it would be devastating if we didn’t meet our goal, because even the cost of printing enough paperbacks in time for the launch party is a bit prohibitive, but not without help! We’re looking to have at least 100 copies available at the event and to do that we’ll need between 60 and 80 backers pledging $20 to $40 to our campaign. If that seems pricey, don’t worry, we’ll make it worth your while!

The Tiers to Choose From and What You’ll Get

And finally, if you just really want to see my dad’s passion project printed in full glory whatever the cost and/or have a special affection for the Sergio Cuevas brood, you can become a Don or Doña level backer:

$250

All previous tier rewards, dedicated thank-you page in the final print and a song performed just for you by Melissa Parra and Spencer Cuevas at the fiesta, custom drawing by Saint Down, and something hand/homemade by Sergio! Also, as many names added to the guest list as you want. Plus our effusive love and gratitude!

If you’re not going to make it to the launch party, that’s okay! We’ll ship your rewards directly to you. If you do plan on coming to the party, however, your name will be on the guest list and we’ll hold your copy of the book for you at the fiesta.
